For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a Christmas tree will be set up in Ivano-Frankivsk. This was announced by the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv on Facebook, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

In 2022 and 2023, a “victory tree” was installed in Ivano-Frankivsk. The metal frame was made by students of a vocational school and decorated with children’s drawings.

Mr. Martsinkiv said that this year they decided to set up the tree in a new location – on the square near the city lake.

“The Christmas holidays are approaching. One of the main symbols is that the Christmas tree will be in Ivano-Frankivsk. But we will not decorate it in the same place as always. It will be on the square near the city lake,” he said.

According to Mr. Martsinkiv, the city will use an artificial Christmas tree that was decorated in previous years. He emphasized the importance of creating a Christmas mood for children, as they deserve a New Year’s miracle.

“We will put up an artificial one, the one we had before. Children deserve a Christmas miracle. And we, the adults, should contribute to this,” said the mayor.

Information about the opening time and additional details of the holiday program will be announced later.

It should be noted that Kyiv authorities will make a decision on the “main Christmas tree of the country,” which is usually set up on St. Sophia Square, in late November.
