20 December 22:34WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and former champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) held a weigh-in ceremony, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
Usyk came to the ceremony with a flag with the inscription “Free Azovstal Defenders” (translated – ). In this way, the Ukrainian champion reminded the whole world of the Azovstal defenders who continue to be held captive by the Russian occupiers.
The Ukrainian and the Briton then made weight and had a final duel of looks.
The British boxer was 25 kilograms heavier than the Ukrainian.
The scales under Usyk showed 102.5 kg. This is the record weight of Oleksandr in his career. Fury’s weight is 127.4 kg.
The rematch between Usyk and Fury will take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. All titles held by the Ukrainian boxer will be at stake.
In the first meeting , Usyk won. Both boxers agreed to a rematch. According to Boxing Kingdom, Usyk will have the opportunity to earn much more money than in the first fight. For the rematch, Usyk will receive 60% of the total fee, and Fury will receive 40%. In the first fight, Tyson Fury received 2/3 of the total fee, and the Ukrainian boxer received the rest.
However, the winner of this fight will not receive the title of absolute world champion, as in June Usyk voluntarily gave up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which will now be played between the British Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
