The Government has allowed debt restructuring for some water and heat utilities
10 December 14:58The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that will allow some water utilities and heat suppliers to restructure their debts. However, this will only apply to those companies whose facilities have been destroyed or damaged by the enemy, as well as those located in active combat zones. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, reports Komersant ukrainskyi.
“The right to restructure debts will be granted to enterprises whose infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged by the enemy and which are located in the territory of active hostilities. The relevant criteria for heat suppliers and water utilities were approved at today’s government meeting,”

According to him, in addition to the criteria, an algorithm for applying for restructuring was also approved.
“This way, we will reduce the debt pressure on critical infrastructure enterprises in the frontline areas for the successful passage of the heating season,”

The Prime Minister also said that almost 100% of residential buildings, hospitals, schools and kindergartens have already been connected to heat. However, there are problems in some cities due to damage to infrastructure and shelling.
“Kherson, which is suffering from enemy shelling, and Kryvyi Rih are the problematic areas. Active repair and restoration works are underway in these cities,”
