Today, on 18 September, Austrian Railways is reopening the railway service between Vienna and Budapest, which was cancelled due to flooding in Central Europe. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
The non-stop Kyiv-Vienna trains are already on their way to Vienna and will depart today, 18 September, from Vienna.
Also, train No. 146 Chop – Vienna resumes its usual route to Vienna.
Train No. 143 Vienna – Chop will resume running from Vienna starting tomorrow, 19 September.
“Today, the train will still depart from the border station Hedyesalom in Hungary, but it is already possible to get to Hedyesalom or Budapest by rail,” Ukrzaliznytsia added.
As a reminder, a number of flights have been temporarily cancelled due to flooding in Poland and the Czech Republic . This also applies to trains heading to Ukraine.
Most international trains from Ukraine to EU countries will run as scheduled on 17 September, but some routes are restricted due to flooding in Central Europe.
