Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily changes train routes to Uzhhorod: list of new flights

Due to large-scale work on laying a European-standard track between Chop and Uzhhorod, Ukrzaliznytsia is making temporary changes to the schedule of passenger trains running to Zakarpattia. This was reported by the press service of the UZ, Komersant ukrainskyi informs
The changes will last from March 31 to July 31, 2025.
At the same time, rail connections to Uzhhorod for all regions will be provided by alternative flights.
Which trains are changing their routes
Trains that will run to/from Mukachevo station:
- no. 17/18 Kharkiv – Uzhhorod;
- no. 38/37 Odesa – Uzhhorod;
- no. 125/126-129/130 Kremenchuk/Poltava – Uzhhorod.
Trains running to/from Chop station:
- no. 81/82 Kyiv – Uzhhorod (from March 31 to July 31);
- no. 749/750 Kyiv – Uzhhorod (from April 1 to July 31);
- no. 829/830 Lviv – Uzhhorod (from April 1 to July 31).
Trains that will run to/from Uzhhorod station:
- no. 59/60 Kyiv – Chop (from March 31 to July 31).
Alternative routes to get to Uzhhorod
At the same time, rail connections to Uzhhorod for all regions will be provided by alternative routes. To do this, Ukrzaliznytsia will run a route through Sambir and Syanky for the following trains from March 31 to July 31:
- no. 4/3 Zaporizhzhia – Uzhhorod;
- no. 29/30 Kyiv – Uzhhorod;
- no. 45/46 Kharkiv – Uzhhorod;
- no. 368/367 Kovel/Lutsk – Uzhhorod.
Main works planned for the Chop-Uzhhorod section
As part of the project, the railroaders will carry out the following works
- reconstruction of the neck of the Chop station;
- overhaul of tracks at the stations Strumkivka and Chop;
- dismantling of the wide gauge and laying of 8.3 km of European gauge;
- laying of 10 km of overhead catenary;
- installation of signaling, communication and dispatching centralization devices;
- repair of more than 30 buildings and structures, including platforms, station buildings, and passenger pavilions;
- average repair of 33 turnouts and 13 km of tracks.
Why is it important?
These changes are an important step in the implementation of European rail transport standards in Ukraine. They will ensure better integration with the European railway network and make traveling more comfortable for passengers.
