Ukrzaliznytsia announces that there will be even more trains to Europe
21 November 20:07On December 15, a direct daily train from Kyiv to Budapest will start running. The launch of a new connection with Bratislava is also scheduled for December 15. Also in the near future, a second pair of trains is planned for the Warsaw-Rava-Ruska-Lviv route. This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia, Komersant ukrainskyi informs.
Kyiv-Budapest route
Train #9/10, which will start running from Kyiv to the major rail and aviation hub of Budapest on December 15, has the following schedule:
– departure from Kyiv at 10:16, arrival in Budapest at 06:00,
– in the opposite direction: departure from Budapest at 22:40, arrival in Kyiv at 19:11.
A ticket in a compartment car costs approximately UAH 3,000.
The schedule of this train is designed in such a way that passengers can also conveniently transfer to trains in the direction of Vienna (less than three hours of travel), Salzburg, Munich, Innsbruck, and Zurich. The waiting time between trains will not exceed two hours. Convenient transfers to trains to Romania, Slovenia and other European countries have also been taken into account.
By the way, train No. 9/10 Kyiv – Budapest will be the 20th international train of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Kyiv – Bratislava route
“Ukrzaliznytsia, together with Slovak railways, is launching a new connection to Bratislava. The new route will also start operating on December 15.
Starting from December 15, the train No. 27/28 Kyiv – Chop – Kyiv and the new train No. 617/961 Chop – Bratislava – Chop of the Slovak Railways will provide rail service between Kyiv and Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.
The international connection between the capitals of Ukraine and Slovakia aims to connect Kyiv, Lviv, and Mukachevo with Bratislava and other major cities in neighboring Slovakia – Kosice, Žilina, Trnava, Trencin, and Poprad. This also opens up a wide range of travel options to most cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague.
Transfers between trains have been coordinated, and the purchase of two tickets can be made in one click in the mobile application and on the official website of Ukrzaliznytsia.
This route was launched as part of the agreements between the Governments of Ukraine and Slovakia on infrastructure and logistics development.
Kyiv-Vienna route
Ukrzaliznytsia assures that traveling from Kyiv to Vienna by train via Chop station will be faster and more comfortable.
Thus, in 2025, the Kyiv-Vienna route with a stopover in Chop will be 3 hours faster and will have 70% more seats due to an additional car.
