UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group continues to actively support the Mental Help project, an initiative of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine aimed at providing psychological assistance to Ukrainians who need it most. Russian aggression has caused irreparable damage not only to Ukraine’s infrastructure but also to the mental health of its citizens.
According to research, more than 70% of Ukrainians experience stress, and less than 2% seek professional help. Experts warn of a possible surge in psychological disorders after the war, which could affect more than 15 million people. Recognising the urgent need for psychological support, UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group has allocated UAH 300 thousand this year to provide 400 free consultations with psychologists and psychotherapists. In addition, Ukrainians have the opportunity to take part in open lectures on mental health.
“Most Ukrainians today need psychological help. The war has left a deep mark on everyone’s soul. We strive to make psychological support available to everyone who needs it so that the trauma of war does not destroy the future. That’s why we have been supporting the Mental Help project since 2022,” said Yanina Olkhovska, Director of Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility and Engagement at UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group.
“The war was a severe test for our country, but it also revealed our indomitable spirit and cohesion. By investing in the psychological resilience of Ukrainians, businesses not only care about people’s well-being, but also make a significant contribution to the reconstruction of Ukraine. After all, mentally healthy people are the driving force of change, able to overcome any difficulties and build a new, successful country,” added Tatiana Sakharuk, Director General of the UN General Assembly in Ukraine.
The Mental Help project is implemented with the support of UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group and a number of international partners. In times of war, Mental Help provides access to qualified psychologists for those who cannot afford to pay for such services.
