Ukrenergo made a statement in connection with the large-scale cold snap
4 January 02:22Due to lower temperatures, energy consumption in Ukraine will increase in the coming days. In this regard, Ukrenergo reminds of the importance of rational use of electricity, as the country’s power system is still recovering from numerous attacks. This is reported by the press service of Ukrenergo, Komersant ukrainskyi informs
“In the next few days, it will get significantly colder in Ukraine. This means that there is a need to once again remind people of the expediency of economical electricity consumption. The Ukrainian power system is still recovering from 13 massive enemy attacks over the past year. And the level of energy consumption in frosty weather always increases significantly,” the statement said.
To avoid the problem of electricity shortages, simple recommendations should be followed:
- Do not turn on several powerful appliances at the same time in the morning (07:00-10:00) and evening (17:00-22:00) peak hours. This will reduce the load on the system and help avoid outages.
- Turn off unnecessary lighting at home and at work. This will reduce energy consumption and save money.
- Disconnect appliances that you are not using from the mains. Even in standby mode, appliances continue to consume electricity.
- Boil only the amount of water you need in an electric kettle. It is faster, more economical, and healthier.
- Use powerful appliances during the lowest load hours (from 23:00 to 07:00).
- Do not leave devices on charge longer than necessary. This will extend battery life and reduce energy consumption.
- Install energy-saving LED lamps. They consume significantly less electricity than conventional incandescent bulbs.
