Ukraine will be covered by an anticyclone: frosts down to -5 degrees will hit at the weekend
19 October 04:11On 19 and 20 October, an anticyclone will hit Ukraine, bringing frost. Rains are also expected in a number of regions. This was reported by weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, Komersant Ukrainian reports
“On Saturday and Sunday, rains are possible in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Crimea and Dnipropetrovs’k regions. Dry weather with sunny skies will prevail in the rest of Ukraine on 19-20 October. In the western part of Ukraine, there will be fog with reduced visibility to 300-500 metres. At night, there will be frosts everywhere except in the south-east of Ukraine,” the weather forecaster predicted.
According to Didenko, a sharp cold snap is expected in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, as well as in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia on 19 October. The temperature there will drop to 6…9 degrees. The weather will be warmest in the western regions and Odesa. During the day in these regions, thermometers will show 11…15 degrees. In the rest of Ukraine, including the capital, the temperature is expected to be 8…12 degrees.
“It will be cool in Kyiv over the weekend, with fresh air at night at 1…4 degrees, with frost in some places, and 10…11 degrees during the day,” the expert said.
“Next week, the heat will return to Ukraine. Warming up to 12…17 degrees Celsius is expected in the country from Monday, 21 October. All regions of Ukraine will be affected.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre reported that there will be no precipitation for the next three days, with only light rains in the east and southeast of the country over the weekend; at night and in the morning, fog will sometimes occur in the western, Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions.
On the night of 19 October, frosts of 0-5° are expected in Ukraine, except in the southeast, and on 20 October, except along the seaside, on the soil surface and in the air; daytime temperatures will be 7-12° Celsius (tomorrow in the eastern regions 4-9°), in Transcarpathia, and 11-16° in Ukraine on 21 October.
