Ukraine to be hit by anticyclone Beate: weather forecast for January 16

Today, January 16, most regions of Ukraine will be covered by the Beate anticyclone. Therefore, precipitation is not expected, only in the Carpathians there will be light and wet snow. This was reported by weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“On January 16, almost all of continental Europe will be in the zone of influence of an anticyclone named Beate. Therefore, significant precipitation is unlikely everywhere, including, of course, Ukraine. Only in the Carpathians will there be light snow and sleet,” Didenko wrote.
According to her, the temperature is expected to drop from 1 °C to -5 °C in Ukraine overnight, and to -5…-10 °C in the Carpathians. During the day on Thursday, in most regions it will be 1…6 °C.
In Kyiv, there will be no precipitation on January 16. At night the temperature will be around 0 °C, during the day 1… 3 °C.
On Friday, January 17, in Ukraine, except for the western regions, there will be rain and sleet, with sleet sticking in some places. The air temperature will be quite high by the end of the week.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cloudy weather with clearings is expected in Ukraine on January 16. There will be no significant precipitation, but in the west of the country, in particular in Transcarpathia and Prykarpattia, there may be some light snowfall.
Ice cover is expected on the roads of the western, northern and Vinnytsia regions. The wind will be northwest and westerly, at a speed of 5-10 m/s.
In most of the country, temperatures will range from 2° below zero to 3° above zero. In the Carpathians, a significant cold snap is expected at night – 5-10° below zero. In the southern regions, the temperature will be between 2-7° Celsius at night and 1-6° Celsius during the day.
