Ukrainians are warned about a new type of fraud

“Ukrenergo warns Ukrainians about the activities of fraudsters who illegally use the company’s name to spread false information about the exchange of lamps with a surcharge of UAH 100 for each lamp, the company reports 
“Be careful! Fraudsters are trying to mislead by using the name of our company for their own mercenary purposes. “Ukrenergo does not exchange lamps and does not pay any remuneration for this,”
– ukrenergo said in a statement.
The company advises citizens to avoid clicking on suspicious links and filling out any forms offered in such advertisements, as personal information can be used by criminals.
Ukrenergo also calls on citizens to inform about such fraudulent messages and prevent their spread.
It is worth noting that a real campaign to exchange conventional lamps for energy-saving LEDs did take place, but without any extra charge, and was initiated last year. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took the initiative, and Ukrenergo was not involved in this programme, which was subsequently discontinued by Ukrposhta in April 2023.
