“We are working on the creation of an International Compensation Mechanism. The first step has already been successfully taken. This is the work of the International Register of Losses. Currently, Ukrainians can apply through Diia for the category “Damaged or destroyed housing” and the category “Death of a close family member.” Today, we are adopting a resolution that will allow filing applications under six more categories. These include ‘Damage or destruction of non-residential real estate’, ‘Loss of access and control over real estate in the temporarily occupied territories’, ‘Serious bodily injury’, ‘Forced labor’, etc.” the Prime Minister said.
Shmyhal noted that in parallel, the government continues to work to ensure that Russia pays in full for the destruction of Ukraine.
A total of about 14,000 Ukrainians have filed applications to the Register of Damages under the categories “Death of a close family member” and “Damage or destruction of residential real estate.”
