6 November 20:08Ukrainian oligarch Gennadiy Boholyubov, who fled Ukraine and is now on the wanted list, owns a polymer business in Russia through a network of offshore companies. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to a story published by Dzerkalo Tyzhnia.
It states that in 2023, Bogolyubov’s companies received almost 28 billion rubles in net revenue and paid one and a half billion rubles in taxes to the Russian budget.
In addition, another Russian company, Petrus JSC, is associated with Gennadiy Bogolyubov. It is a branch of the Retal manufacturing company that produces polymer caps and other products. “Retal is currently affiliated with the Privat group, where Boholyubov is one of the main co-founders and controlling persons. “Retal is owned by the Cyprus-based offshore company Retal Industries Limited, whose president is Ihor Kolomoisky’s partner Anatoliy Martynov. Martynov also has other holdings associated with the Privat group.
The media outlet also states that the Retal branch in St. Petersburg belonged to another company, which was later transferred to Petrus.
Petrus is associated with a Cypriot offshore company called Pet.Rus Plastic Holdings Ltd. The director of this company is Marianna Giannakou, who is also associated with other companies in which Bogolyubov appears.
Another person associated with Gennadiy Bogolyubov’s business in Russia is Liana Maragu, the secretary of Pet.Rus LLC. She also holds a similar position in other companies belonging to the Privat group.
It is worth noting that offshore companies controlled by Bogolyubov have contributed a significant amount of money to the Russian budget. For example, Petrus JSC paid one and a half billion rubles in taxes in 2023. In addition, other companies owned by Bogolyubov also contributed millions of dollars to the budget of the aggressor country.
These facts have already provoked a reaction from the Security Service of Ukraine, and they are considering imposing sanctions on Bogolyubov.
