Ukrainian acrobats Anastasia Semenovych and Bohdan Ivanik won the gold medal at the 29th World Championships in Artistic Acrobatics in Portugal. This is reported on the website of the International Gymnastics Federation, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“Anastasia Semenovych and Bogdan Ivanik became unexpected winners. Competing in their first world finals, the Lviv pair, aged 17 and 20, were superb, beating Amy Rafaeli and Jonathan Friedman (ISR) to their second silver. Semenovych and Ivanyk are the best Ukrainians at the World Championships,” the federation said.
The athletes are pupils of the Ivan Bobersky Drohobych Children’s and Youth Sports School, coached by Oksana Zhguta.
The World Acrobatics Championships were held in Guimarães, Portugal, on 19-22 September.
