30 December 11:42The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has resumed the work of the first three key notary registries, which were suspended after a cyberattack on December 19. This was reported by the Ministry, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
It is noted that the Unified Register of Powers of Attorney, the Inheritance Register, and the Unified Register of Special Forms of Notarial Documents have been reopened.
“From now on, notaries can fully register powers of attorney, wills and inheritance cases, as well as check special forms,” the statement said.
The Ministry of Justice also assured that all notarial acts performed in the absence of access to the registers will be registered within 5 business days.
The Ministry and other relevant services are working to open other registries.
As you know, due to the largest recent cyberattack by Russians, access to the state registers of the Ministry of Justice has been temporarily restricted since December 19.
At the time, the Ministry of Justice said that it would take about two weeks to fully restore the registers.
First Deputy Minister Mykola Kucheryavenko said that, first of all, the Unified Register of Powers of Attorney, the Unified Register of Special Forms of Notarial Documents and the Inheritance Register would be restored.
Then, according to him, the State Register of Civil Status Acts, the Unified State Register, and the State Register of Property Rights will be restored.
Cyberattacks are not a hindrance to love
While IT specialists are working around the clock to restore the registries, employees of civil registry offices across the country have returned to paper registry books so that every couple in love can legalize their relationship.
As the Ministry of Justice reported at the end of last week, despite the suspension of the registries, Ukrainians continued to get married actively, and almost 1400 couples applied to the Civil Registry Offices in 6 days, meaning that, according to the ministry, a new Ukrainian family is born every 6 minutes of daylight.
The largest number of weddings took place in Dnipropetrovs’k region – 153 couples. In Kyiv, there were 145 new families. And even in Kherson region, despite the proximity to the frontline, 7 couples proved that love can really overcome any obstacles.
