Ukrainian biathletes win second gold medal at the 2025 Winter Universiade

The Ukrainian biathlon team has won its second gold medal at the 2025 Winter Universiade in Turin. The victory was won by Serhiy Suprun and Oleksandra Merkushyna in the single mixed relay. This was reported by the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

“Ukraine is the champion of the single mixed relay at the World Winter Universiade! Congratulations to our biathletes Oleksandra Merkushyna and Serhiy Suprun on their gold medal! The fight was intense until the last minutes, but our athletes gave their all to win! The second competition day of the Universiade and the third medal of our team! A great pace of competition has been set! We are waiting for new victories and medals!” – said Ivan Krulko, President of the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine.

The Universiade in Turin continued with the single mixed relay. Serhiy Suprun and Oleksandra Merkushyna competed for Ukraine.

The first day of the competition was also successful for Ukraine, with Bohdan Borkovskyi and Daryna Chalyk winning gold and bronze.

on January 15, Ukrainian biathlete Anastasia Merkushyna took third place in the IBU Cup race in Brisno-Osrbla. She came out with the Ukrainian flag at the award ceremony.
