Ukrainian farmers have already threshed 39.06 million tonnes of new crops harvested on an area of 10.9 million hectares. This is reported by the press service of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
Thus, as of today, 30.08 million tonnes of grain, 8.2 million tonnes of oilseeds and 741.5 thousand tonnes of sugar beet have been harvested. In particular
- wheat – 21.8 million tonnes harvested on an area of 4.9 million hectares,
- barley – 5.5 million tonnes on 1.4 million hectares
- peas – 461.6 thousand tonnes harvested on 212.2 thousand hectares,
- millet – 110.4 thousand tonnes harvested on 56.8 thousand hectares,
- buckwheat – 88.2 thousand tonnes harvested on 56.2 thousand hectares,
- rapeseed – 3.4 million tonnes of seeds were harvested on 1.3 million hectares,
- sunflower – 2.97 mln tonnes of seeds harvested on 1.5 mln ha,
- soybeans – 1.8 million tonnes of seeds were harvested on 909.5 thousand hectares,
- corn – 1.1 million tonnes of seeds were harvested on an area of 255.3 thousand hectares.
It is noted that Vinnytsia region is the leader in grain harvesting, having threshed 2.1 million hectares. Khmelnytskyi region is ahead in terms of yields, with 62.9 centners per hectare.
Almost all regions are harvesting sunflower. Agrarians in eight regions – Vinnytsia, Volyn, Lviv, Poltava, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy and Bukovyna – are harvesting sugar beet.
Earlier it was reported that farmers predicted a lower harvest due to a dry May. Later, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy improved its grain harvest forecast. The forecast calls for a grain harvest of almost 56 million tonnes. Of this, 21 million tonnes of wheat.
