Ukrainian Artem Dovbyk and Roma get a new “temporary” coach
14 November 17:49Claudio Ranieri has been appointed as the new head coach of the Italian football club Roma. This was reported by the press service of the Roman football club, Komersant ukrainskyi informs.
The experienced Italian headed Roma for the third time. The contract with the 73-year-old specialist is valid until the summer of 2025.
At the end of the season, Claudio Ranieri will be promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer, where he will advise the owner on all sports issues at the club. The search for a future coach will continue over the next few months.
Born in Rome and a lifelong novelist, Ranieri wore the Giallorossi shirt as a player during the 1973-74 season and later served as the team’s head coach twice – from 2009 to 2011 and in 2019.
As Roma emphasized, he is a true symbol of the club’s values and one of the most respected figures in Roman sports around the world.
It is noted that Ranieri brings with him vast knowledge and experience not only from Serie A, but also from the Premier League, La Liga and Ligue 1, he has managed the best European clubs and won historic titles, such as his legendary triumph in 2016 with English Leicester.
Ranieri replaced Ivan Juric as Roma’s head coach, who took over the team only in September and worked for less than two months. The Romans started the current season under the leadership of Daniele De Rossi.
Roma currently ranks 12th in the Serie A standings with 13 points from 12 matches.
