Ukraine’s national diving team has won a historic victory at the 2025 European Championships in Antalya, Turkey. For the first time in history, Ukrainian athletes won five gold medals at the continental championship, which allowed the team to lead the medal standings for the second time in a row, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing Suspilne Sport.
The European Diving Championships, which lasted seven competitive days, became the first separate continental tournament in this sport in the last two years. Ukraine was represented by a delegation of ten athletes of different levels of training – from experienced winners of previous championships to young debutants.
Dominance of Ukrainian jumpers
The results of the Ukrainian team are impressive. The seven medals of various types won by Ukrainian athletes include a record five gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal. This figure allowed Ukraine to take first place in the medal standings, outperforming the traditionally strong German team in terms of the number of the most valuable awards.
The second-place German team won twelve medals in total, which is more than Ukraine, but only three of them were gold. Thus, Ukrainian jumpers demonstrated an extremely high level of skill in the most prestigious disciplines.

The historical significance of the victory
Ukraine won the European Championships for the second time in a row, repeating the success of 2023, when the team also topped the medal standings with five medals (four gold and one silver). However, the five gold medals won at Euro 2025 were an absolute record for Ukraine at the European Diving Championships.
In total, this is Ukraine’s third victory in the medal standings of the continental diving championships in history. The previous triumphs date back to 2013 and 2023, making the current success part of a stable tradition in the sport.
The success of the Ukrainian team is especially impressive against the backdrop of strong competition from traditionally strong European teams, including Germany, Italy and other countries with developed water sports schools.
The final medal standings of the tournament are as follows: Ukraine (5-1-1), Germany (3-5-4), Italy (2-4-2), Switzerland (1-0-1), Spain (1-0-0).
