Ukraine is increasing production of Bren 2 Sich rifles: a course for deep localization

Ukraine plans to increase the production of Bren 2 Sich rifles and significantly deepen their localization. This was announced by the Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to him, these plans were discussed during a meeting with the CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Czech company Česká Zbrojovka, Jan Zajic. They discussed not only the expansion of production, but also the adaptation of the rifle to the real needs of modern warfare.
“We discussed the implementation of joint projects, including cooperation on localizing the production of CZ Bren 2 Sich rifles. We talked about deepening the level of localization and increasing the volume of production,” Smetanin said.
In addition, the Minister met with Daniel Louis Powers, CEO of the American company D&M Holding. The company specializes in ammunition and specialty chemicals. The parties finalized a cooperation proposal and are moving to the next stage of cooperation.
Last week, Smetanin also held talks with Benedikta von Sacherr-Toss, Managing Director for Peace, Security and Defense at the European External Action Service (EEAS). The meeting focused on the development of the SAFE initiative aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense industry potential.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Strategic Industry signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) in the field of defense industry development.
