Ukraine imported over 1 million tons of gasoline: where does the fuel come from
18 November 09:51In January-October 2024, gasoline imports to Ukraine decreased by 4.1% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 1.016 million tons. This is evidenced by the data of Naftogaz Daily fuels & LPG as of November 13, 2024, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
The main share of imported gasoline in Ukraine during the reporting period was A-95, which covered 96% of all supplies. A smaller share – 3.1% – was made up of A-98/100 gasoline.
The A-92 brand was imported only in August and currently has an insignificant share in the supply structure.
The total cost of gasoline purchased during the first ten months of 2024 amounted to $949.4 million, which is 14.3% less than in 2023 ($1108.5 million). The decrease in the average price is due to fluctuations in global oil prices and supply conditions.
Import destinations
Poland has become a key supplier of gasoline to Ukraine. The share of imports through the western border with this country increased to 52.9%, up from 34.6% in 2023.
Romania remains in second place, with 33.9% of gasoline coming across the border (47.1% in 2023).
Deliveries via Moldova account for 11.0% of total imports, while the shares of Slovakia and Hungary remain minimal – 1.9% and 0.2%, respectively.

As a reminder, in October 2024, Ukraine significantly increased the volume of diesel fuel imports from Poland – by 28% compared to September.
