Pupils and students may be forced to submit information about themselves to the TCC in person
9 December 18:35Educational institutions may have the right not to submit annual lists of conscripts from among their students. This will happen if the President of Ukraine signs draft law No. 12076, Komersant ukrainskyi reports, citing the parliament’s website.
The bill was initiated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. The Verkhovna Rada received the document on September 27, 2024. On December 3, the parliamentarians adopted the draft law as a basis.
As explained by the Government, the purpose of the draft law is to resolve problematic issues related to the initial registration of Ukrainian citizens for military service, including medical examinations of such citizens.
Therefore, it is proposed to abolish the obligation of educational institutions to annually submit lists of pupils and students subject to military registration to the Military Registration and Enlistment Commission.
If the draft law is adopted in its entirety, the responsibility for submitting information about himself will rest with the conscript. He will be given the opportunity to register remotely through the Reserve system or come in person to the CMC.
In the absence of electronic or personal identification, a pupil or student will have to report to the MCC upon reaching the age of 18 and pay a fine of UAH 17 thousand to UAH 25.5 thousand.
