President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Ukrainians on Merry Christmas. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the official website of the President.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that today is a very special evening. This is the third Christmas that Ukraine celebrates in the war. And, according to the President, for the second time in modern history, Christmas unites all Ukrainians.

“Our large Ukrainian family cannot celebrate it in full – the way we would like to, the way it should be. Unfortunately, not all of us are at home. Unfortunately, not everyone has a home. And, unfortunately, not everyone is with us. However, despite all the troubles brought by the enemy, he failed to capture or destroy the main thing – our hearts, the light inside us, faith in goodness and mercy, the person inside each of us,” the President said.

In his speech, the Head of State mentioned the military who are defending Ukraine; internally displaced persons; Ukrainians who were forced to leave Ukraine; our citizens under occupation, as well as prisoners of war.

The President called on everyone to congratulate each other in person or in their minds, call their parents, kiss their children, hug their families, and remember their loved ones.

“Live, at a distance or in the heart – Ukrainians are together today. And as long as we do this, evil has no chance. And our unity and warmth towards each other is the true spirit of Christmas, its unique atmosphere, which we will keep inside us and share with those around us,” Zelensky said.
