Artificial intelligence should provide the UK with a decade of national renewal, and this is exactly what the British government’s ambitious plan announced by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will serve. This is reported on the British Government portal, Komersant ukrainskyi informs.
Announcing the details of the government’s action plan, the British Prime Minister emphasized that artificial intelligence can change the lives of working people.
“The introduction of artificial intelligence in various fields will lead to incredible changes in our country. It will help reduce the administrative burden for teachers, facilitate record keeping for small businesses, help monitor road conditions, and do many other things,” said Keir Starmer.
According to him, support for artificial intelligence can also lead to more money in the pockets of working people.

According to IMF estimates, if artificial intelligence is fully implemented, it could increase productivity by as much as 1.5 percentage points per year. And this would mean an average increase in profits of 47 billion pounds annually for the UK. These figures were given during the presentation.
“This plan will help make the UK the number one place to invest in artificial intelligence companies, which is vital if Britain is to be at the forefront of this industry and be a change agent, not a change acceptor,” the British Prime Minister emphasized.
The proposed plan includes 50 measures, the implementation of which should qualitatively change the country. These changes include
– creation of new artificial intelligence development zones – the first one will be in Culham, Oxfordshire
– increasing public computing capacity twentyfold, and this, as announced, begins immediately with the start of work on a brand new supercomputer
– creation of a new national data library to support the development of artificial intelligence in the country;
– the creation of a special AI energy council chaired by the ministers of science and energy, which will work with energy companies to understand energy needs and challenges that will drive the development of the technology.
This Action Plan is also the basis of the British government’s industrial strategy and the first part of the upcoming Digital and Technology Sector Plan, which will be published in the coming months.
