A fire broke out in Ternopil at night during an air raid alert. Residents of the city are asked to limit their stay outside. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the Ternopil Regional State Administration.
“About the situation that happened at night during the air raid. Employees of the State Emergency Service and the police are working at the scene of the fire,” the statement said.
According to the regional military administration, the enemy attacked an industrial facility.
“Around three in the morning, we received a report of a fire at an industrial facility in Ternopil. Upon arrival, it was found that the fire was caused by an enemy shell. Rescuers from several districts of the city were engaged to extinguish the fire,” the Ternopil Regional State Emergency Service said.
The EBA recommends that when planning your day, you limit your and, especially, your children’s stay outside and close windows in your rooms.
The authorities also issued recommendations for action in the near future:
- stay indoors unnecessarily during the day,
- limit children’s exposure to the streets as much as possible,
- close windows indoors,
- thoroughly wash food brought from the yard.
Mayor Serhiy Nadal said that the smell of burning could be felt in the air, and therefore asked the citizens to close their windows.
“For the attention of Ternopil residents living in Druzhba, Kutkivtsi, Pronyatyn, Novyi Svit and Bila streets. Please close the windows tightly, as the smell of burning after the fire may be felt in the air,” the official said.
In addition, air quality measurements are being carried out in Ternopil district.
