The Unmanned Systems Forces will have a female unit

The Unmanned Systems Forces have opened a recruitment drive for the Harpies unit.
This was reported on the SBS social media, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
They explained that men will be recruited to the unit, but only women will be drone pilots. The Harpies are headed by military officer Daria, nicknamed DShK, who took part in the Revolution of Dignity and has been fighting against the Russians as part of several special forces since 2022.
“‘Harpies’ is an environment for women who want to take revenge on the enemy, protect their children, families and the state using unmanned and robotic systems,” the SSU describes the unit.
Women who want to join the Harpies will have 45 days of basic general military training, as well as more than 30 days of specialized training and time to bond with the crew before performing missions.
They will be able to use both FPV copters and heavy bombers, wing-type strike UAVs and ground robotic systems. The unit will also be open to active military and reservists.
In ancient Greek mythology, harpies were winged women with birdlike bodies who stole human souls.
