According to the court registers, investigators of the Second Department of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation are conducting a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings No. 62024100120000599. At the same time, the court records available in the court registry do not contain information on the application of a preventive measure, the announcement of suspicion to Oleksandr Tkachuk, or his removal from office for the duration of the investigation.

Also, according to media reports citing the Office of the Prosecutor General, the first examinations in the case were conducted only in November 2024. Instead, it has been repeatedly suggested that the investigation into the case may be deliberately delayed.

[Kommersant] sent a request to the PGO asking about the progress of the investigation and whether the Prosecutor General’s Office was planning to take control of the high-profile case, given Tkachuk’s position. As noted in the PGO’s response,

“the said criminal proceedings are not under the control of the Prosecutor General’s Office.”
