Ukraine was also represented in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s election observation mission to the U.S. elections

Americans who came to vote for the first time were greeted with applause at the polling stations, supporting and encouraging them to be active citizens of their country. And everyone who voted was given an “I Voted” sticker. These observations were shared in Telegram by MP Iryna Gerashchenko, who worked in Washington and Maryland as part of the OSCE PA mission during the election.

She said that as early as 7 a.m., a small line of voters gathered near the polling station where the observation was carried out, and the atmosphere was calm and friendly.

According to Iryna Gerashchenko, the American system is very specific, with special electronic boxes installed at the polling stations. The commission members enter voters’ IDs into special tablets, then they vote in special box machines and enter the electronic ballot into a separate machine.

It is also interesting that near the polling stations there are mini-campaign posters right on the flower beds. But there are no billboards with faces in the city.

“When we introduce ourselves as Ukrainians, people are friendly and ask how we are holding up. They also wish us good luck, strength and victory!” Iryna Gerashchenko shared what she heard.
