The Servant of the People party says there can be no demobilization during the war
15 January 13:12
Fedir Venislavsky, MP from the Servant of the People party, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said that demobilization in Ukraine is impossible during martial law. He said this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, Komersant ukrainskyi reports, citing a broadcast of the meeting hosted by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.
“Demobilization during martial law is impossible a priori,” Venislavsky said during a speech before voting on a bill to extend mobilization.
Venislavsky said that demobilization in Ukraine is impossible until the war is over and all occupied territories are liberated.
Honcharenko criticized Venislavsky’s statement.
“MP Venislavsky said that there can be no demobilization during the war and until our territories are liberated. And I have something to say about this: What is this manipulation? What are you talking about? Why can’t there be a term of service? Why should the service be endless?” said Honcharenko.

He noted that the current mobilization has lost its true meaning due to numerous violations in the recruitment process:
“You have not done a general mobilization, you have completely discredited this word, turning mobilization into busification. This was the main word of the last year.”
According to Honcharenko, it is necessary to reform the system of military commissariats and create modern recruiting centers that will work efficiently and transparently.
“It is necessary to disband the military commissariats and create normal recruiting centers. You don’t care about motivating people. You refuse to set terms of service. This cannot go on forever! Stop mocking people. That’s why I want to say: I vote for the last time for the continuation of mobilization without demobilization. Enough is enough,” the MP summarized.
As a reminder, today, on January 15, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization for another 90 days – until May 9.
Now, the changes need only the signature of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to come into force.
