In January alone, the aggressor country of Russia fired more than 330 missiles of various types and about 600 attack drones at the territory of Ukraine. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Twitter account, reports
“Since the beginning of this year, Russia has attacked Ukrainian cities, firing more than 330 missiles of various types and about 600 military drones. To withstand this pressure from terrorists, we need a powerful air shield. And this is exactly the kind of air shield we are building together with our partners,”
– the Head of State said.
Zelenskyy noted that control over the Ukrainian sky is critical to ensuring security on the ground – from the frontline to hospitals and schools in the rear.
“Developing an air defence and electronic warfare system is our top priority. We have to defeat Russian terror, and it is achievable,”
– he concluded.
It is worth noting that on the night of 30 January alone, Russian troops launched new attacks on Ukraine, launching 35 Shahed kamikaze drones and two S-300 missiles. Air defence systems destroyed 15 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
