Serhiy Kalchenko, MP from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the Committee on Regulations, Deputy Ethics and Organization of the Verkhovna Rada, has registered a draft resolution on amendments to the appendix to the budget of the Verkhovna Rada for 2025.

This is stated in the bill card on the VRU website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

In particular, Kalchenko proposes to increase the amount of compensation to MPs for renting housing or renting a hotel room in Kyiv.

As he noted, MPs currently receive between 18,000 and 20,000 hryvnias per month for renting a house or hotel room, depending on the number of calendar days. The compensation per day is 650 hryvnias.

Instead, Kalchenko proposes to increase the payments to 900 hryvnias per day, which will amount to about 27 thousand hryvnias per month.

According to him, the amount of compensation remained at the same level as in 2017-2018.

“At the same time, taking into account the consumer price index for the period 2018-2024, the amount of compensation should have increased by an average of more than 77 percent over this period, for example, the increase in fuel prices increased by 4.3 times or 400 percent compared to 2018, utilities by 3.4 times or an average of 59 percent compared to 2018,” the MP explained.

He assured that the implementation of the draft law does not require additional expenditures from the state budget, as the number of MPs entitled to housing compensation has decreased.
