The Pentagon intends to use all available funds to support Ukraine until the end of Joe Biden’s presidential term, before Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Sabrina Singh, deputy spokesperson for the US Department of Defense, said this during a briefing, Voice of America reports, [ komersant] reports

“Now the Defense Ministry has $6 billion for Ukraine. This includes about $4 billion for the Presidential Decision Authority (PDA) program, under which weapons are removed from US Army warehouses, and about $2 billion for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), under which weapons are ordered directly from manufacturers.

Speaking about the deliveries under the PDA program, Singh noted that some weapons arrive in Ukraine within days and weeks. Other weapons may take longer to arrive, depending on their availability in U.S. warehouses.

“We are always looking at the capabilities that Ukraine needs on the battlefield, that the Ukrainian military can use, and that will make the biggest difference. Today, I don’t have a set of new tools or new things that we’re looking at, but every time we announce an aid package or a new commitment, it’s an investment in the success of Ukrainians fighting on the battlefield,” the Pentagon deputy spokeswoman added.

According to her, after the transition of power, the new administration will work with Congress to formulate a policy to support Ukraine in the future. Singh emphasized that Ukraine has support from both parties in the US Congress.

“Republicans and Democrats have committed themselves to Ukraine in terms of votes and money. The new team will work with Congress, and there is support in Congress to continue to help Ukraine,” she said.

In addition, Singh reminded that Ukraine is supported not only by the United States, but also by other countries.
