One of the most popular parties in the Netherlands, which is represented in all local representative bodies, BBB (BoerBurgerBeweging, Farmer-Citizen Movement), proposes to send Ukrainian refugees back to Ukraine. This was reported by the Dutch News with reference to the Dutch edition of Dutch News

“We cannot accept everyone. The west of the country [Ukraine] seems to me to be relatively stable. Couldn’t Ukrainians be safely accommodated there?”

– said VVV MP Mona Keizer during a debate on the government’s budget for refugees.

The MP also asked the representatives of the interim government of the Netherlands what their position would be if Kyiv asked for the return of Ukrainian citizens subject to mobilisation. According to her, it is possible that hundreds of thousands of people who are supposed to do military service have fled abroad, and some of them may end up in the Netherlands.

The interim government of the Netherlands does not share the radical views of the VVV MPs and is not going to take radical actions towards Ukrainian refugees. They recalled that the deputy proposes to send people back to the country where the war from which they fled is taking place.
