In the Netherlands, a child damaged a painting worth tens of millions of euros

In a museum in Rotterdam, Netherlands, a child damaged a painting by one of the most famous representatives of abstract expressionism, Mark Rothko, which is estimated to be worth 40 to 50 million euros.
This was reported by RTL News, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The incident occurred in the Boijmans-Van Beuningen Museum, one of the largest in the country. Rothko’s painting “Gray, Orange on Maroon, No. 8” was damaged.
It is noted that the damage to the painting was due to inattention, the child “rashly” scratched the canvas.
According to preliminary estimates, the painting is worth between 40 and 50 million euros, making it one of the most expensive in the museum’s collection.
The museum acquired the canvas measuring 2.3 by 2.6 meters in 1970.
Experts are currently determining how to repair the damage to the painting and how much it will cost.
The museum does not intend to make any statements on the matter.
