The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC ) has found that the head of the Kyiv police department in charge of combating drug crime may have assets worth about UAH 3.9 million acquired without proper justification. This was reported by the NACP press service, according to
As it turned out, in 2022, the police officer’s wife, owning the right to use a Dodge Durango worth UAH 697,000, sold it to her mother-in-law. However, she continued to use the car.
Additionally, in 2023, the officer’s wife purchased a 0.12-hectare land plot in Kyiv region worth more than UAH 3 million on the basis of a power of attorney from her mother-in-law.
The NACP found that the savings and total official income of the police officer, his mother and wife were significantly lower than the value of the acquired assets.
The NACP also noted that in 2018, the police officer’s mother became the owner of two apartments in Kyiv, despite the fact that she lives elsewhere.
Based on the findings, the NAPC sent materials to the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) to consider filing a lawsuit to declare the assets totalling UAH 3,878,590 unjustified and confiscate them in favour of the state.
