Eight Ukrainian-language audio guides launched in Vatican museums
23 November 04:06Eight Ukrainian-language audio guides have been installed in Vatican museums. The opening was attended by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. This is stated on the website of the President’s Office, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
It is reported that these audio guides are unique. A total of 19 hours of text was recorded, which was voiced by famous Ukrainians. Among them are artists, TV presenters, athletes, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Vatican Andriy Yurash.
“The voice-over work was not easy – it was interrupted by air raids and power outages in Kyiv. Between the stories about eternal values, artists and art, the actors and sound engineers had to run to the bomb shelter. It’s a terrible contrast that Ukraine is living in now,” the first lady said.
It is worth noting that a total of 93 audio guides are already working in 50 countries. Olena Zelenska assured that this project would continue.
“For our compatriots who find themselves abroad on a difficult path. And for our language itself, because it has the right to sound and be heard. I thank everyone who wants to hear and does hear Ukraine. I thank the Vatican, our Embassy, which has been working on this for a long time, and everyone involved. Let art, history, culture, and spirituality sound,” the President’s wife emphasized.
The First Lady also handed over a selection of books to the Vatican Library. They will form a Ukrainian bookshelf that will help to better understand Ukrainian history and modernity.
