The Honorary Consulate of Iceland has started its work in Lviv. It is headed by former Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Andriy Deshchytsia. This was announced in a telegram by the head of the Lviv Regional Administration Maxim Kozitsky, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The Honorary Consulate of Iceland has been opened in Lviv. It will cover Lviv, Volyn, Ternopil, and Rivne regions. This was announced during our meeting by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iceland to Ukraine Fredrik Jonsson and the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Iceland in Lviv Andriy Deshchytsia,” – he said.
Kozytskyi noted that Lviv is thus becoming the center of Icelandic-Ukrainian partnership in western Ukraine. The head of the OIA congratulated Andrii Deshchytsia on his appointment.
He also expressed gratitude to the government and people of Iceland for their very tangible support of our country: more than 5.5 billion ISK for humanitarian, economic and defense support for Ukraine in 2022-2023. Another almost $30 million will be provided annually until 2028, according to the bilateral agreement.
