According to investigators, the drug and psychotropic sales scheme was set up by a previously convicted 31-year-old resident of Kyiv region together with two accomplices. The drug dealers sold cocaine, amphetamine, and cannabis. They sold narcotic and psychotropic substances exclusively in Kyiv during personal meetings, and accepted payment only in cash.
In order not to arouse suspicion, the drug dealers disguised themselves in military uniforms during the sales. Law enforcement officers detained all three participants of the scheme.
“One of the offenders was detained in the capital, where he came to sell another batch of psychotropic drugs. We seized half a kilogram of amphetamine from his car. The rest of the suspects were detained at their place of residence, where psychotropic substances, a grenade and a pistol with ammunition were seized during authorized searches,” said Oleksandr Legenkyi, head of the Shevchenkivskyi Police Department.
The cost of the seized drugs at black market prices is UAH 500 thousand. The detainees were served suspicion notices of illegal sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code) and illegal handling of weapons (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code).
The court imposed on the suspects custody as a measure of restraint. They face up to ten years in prison and confiscation of property.
