Kyiv suspends minibus driver who called military “drunken cattle”

In a Kyiv bus, a driver violated the rights of a female soldier. He deliberately braked sharply so that the woman fell when she wanted to show her privilege certificate.

This was reported by Ksenia Ponomaryova the day before, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

The incident occurred at the Syrets metro station in Kyiv when the woman was entering the bus #410.

According to Ksenia, a few days ago, this driver kicked her out and told her to take a trolleybus.

“He recognized me, waited until I pulled out my combatant’s ID while standing next to him, and rushed out of the bus stop. He started shouting at me right away, using the first name. I replied that I remembered his attitude towards us, he braked sharply, and I fell. I fell right in the aisle, on the floor, which was dirty with a mess of wet snow,” she recalled.

According to the soldier, the driver called her a “drunken cattle.” The woman said that she could hardly see in one eye after the contusion, so her movements were slow.

“I stood up, said he was a c*ck, and turned to face the people in the bus. There were 6-8 people there. Guess if any of them gave me a hand or stepped in? Yes, you guessed it: no one. They silently turned away,” Ksenia said.

After that, the soldier contacted the hotline of the State Service for Transport Safety. On February 18, they told her that officials had met with the transportation company and the driver.

The driver has already been suspended from work pending an internal investigation.

In addition, drivers will be given additional instructions on how to comply with traffic rules and the safety of passenger transportation on Kyiv city routes.
