On the night of 26 September, explosions were heard in Kyiv. Local authorities warned of air defence operations. A fire broke out as a result of the enemy attack, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMDA) said, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
The media and social media reported a series of explosions in the capital at 1.40 a.m., then around 2 a.m., 2.27 a.m., 4.21 a.m., 5.22 a.m. and 5.40 a.m.
The KIAA reported that air defences were firing on enemy drones. Before that, the monitoring groups wrote about the movement of the Shahed in the area of the left bank of the capital.
At around 06:20, Klitschko reported that emergency services had been called to the Pechersk district. According to preliminary information, a fire broke out on the first floor of a residential building as a result of falling debris.
“There was a fire on the first floor of a 5-storey residential building. Emergency services are arriving at the scene,” the Kyiv Metropolitan Administration said.
Klitschko added that, according to preliminary data, a gas pipe on the first floor of a five-storey residential building was depressurised. There were no injuries.
In addition to the gas pipe in the residential building, about 20 cars were damaged. Debris fell on the territory of a kindergarten.
The night was also noisy in Khmelnytskyi and Ivano-Frankivsk, where enemy UAVs also flew overhead, but there are no details yet.
