Subway and trolleybus traffic in Kyiv is restricted due to missile attack: what is known
6 June 08:22
Another massive rocket attack on Kyiv at night damaged the infrastructure of the red line of the Kyiv metro. The damage was recorded on the stretch between Darnytsia and Livoberezhna stations: tracks and cable networks were damaged. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
How train traffic on the red line of the metro has changed
Currently, the red metro line is operating in a limited mode. Trains run only between Akademmistechko and Arsenalna stations with an interval of about 4 minutes.
Dnipro, Hidropark, Livoberezhna, Darnytsia, Chernihivska, and Lisova stations are temporarily closed for entry and exit.
Emergency repairs are underway
Metro repair crews are working at the accident site. They are restoring the tracks and power lines and diagnosing the damage. The estimated timeframe for full resumption of traffic is up to 24 hours.
“Only those trains that were idle at night in the dead ends of underground stations are being used to transport passengers,” Kyiv Metro said.
Temporary bus route No. 1M has been launched
To ensure the movement of passengers between the right and left banks, a duplicate bus route No. 1M has been organized, which runs between Lesnaya and Arsenalnaya metro stations.
The route is as follows:
In the direction from Lesnaya to Arsenalnaya: Brovarskyi Avenue → Dniprovskyi Descent → Alley of Heroes of Kruty → Ivan Mazepa Street → Arsenalna metro station
In the opposite direction: the same route, except for the section between Darnytsia and Chernihivska – buses will bypass it via Andriy Malyshko Street.
Route No. 1M will operate for the period of restrictions in the subway.
What passengers should know:
- The red line of the metro is partially operational – only to Arsenalna station
- Interval of movement – approximately 6 minutes
- Stations on the left bank are closed
- Duplicate bus route No. 1M is running
- Traffic is expected to resume within a day.
Changes in trolleybus routes
Due to the consequences of shelling in the capital, trolleybus routes on Vadym Hetman Street have been changed
Traffic is blocked on the section of Vadym Hetman Street from Anton Tsedyk Street to Oleksa Tykhoho Street. The restrictions were imposed by police officers.
In this regard, trolleybuses are running:
- no. 27 – to the Industrialnyi overpass and Degtyarivska str;
- no. 30 – via Lukyanivska metro station, Sevastopolska Square and further along the usual route;
- no. 22 and No. 42 – traffic is organized as follows: Sevastopolska Square, Vozdukhnykh Sylyv Avenue, Vyacheslav Chornovil Street, Yuriy Illienko Street, and Dorohozhytska Street, then along their own routes.
Some trolleybuses on route 42 temporarily run only from the Lybidska metro station to the Industrialnyi overpass.
