In Kyiv, as of the morning of 20 September, there was a temporary deterioration in the air quality. There is an increase in the concentration of suspended particles (dust). This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi
with reference to the Kyiv City State Administration.
The probable cause of the temporary deterioration in air quality is fires in the ecosystem of Kyiv region. According to the operational duty officer of the Kyiv Oblast State Emergency Service, fires in the ecosystem were recorded in the Vyshgorod district.
To improve the air situation, it is recommended to
- close windows
- limit your stay outside;
- drink plenty of water;
- if you have an air purifier, turn it on to the maximum setting.
As a reminder, a temporary deterioration in air quality and an unpleasant smell were recorded in Kyiv on 6 September. The reason is fires in ecosystems, in particular peat burning in 6 foci with a total area of 3.74 hectares in the Brovary district of Kyiv region.
