Each brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have a position of an authorized representative for procurement of goods, works and services. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov on Facebook, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

“I have signed an order that introduces a new staff position in each brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – an authorized representative for the procurement of goods, works and services. Our goal is to ensure that Ukrainian soldiers receive all the necessary means to repel Russian aggression in a timely manner. We continue systemic changes to strengthen the defense capability and increase the efficiency of the Armed Forces,” the minister said.

Umerov added that these specialists will be responsible for planning and organizing procurement, preparing tender documents, analyzing market conditions, searching for suppliers, and selecting and evaluating submitted proposals.

According to him, the new position will also allow to separate the military’s combat duties from procurement-related tasks.

“Thanks to this, procurement for our units will be carried out quickly, transparently and taking into account the real needs of the soldiers. A separate task is to eliminate conflicts of interest. The new position will allow us to separate the military’s combat duties from procurement-related tasks,” the minister said.

It is known that the military constantly complain about the quality of food in the Armed Forces, which often does not meet the established standards. Another confirmation of this fact was found by NGL.media journalists who documented in their investigation that instead of meat, the military receive canned food with skin and tendons.

Meanwhile, the State Logistics Operator, which is responsible for supplying food to the Armed Forces, has classified its food procurement data for the first time.
