Kyiv City State Administration explains the causes of the noise that Kyiv residents complain about in the morning
20 November 13:38The strange hum heard by Kyiv residents on the morning of September 20 is technological noise and is associated with the operation of a large heat source. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the Kyiv City State Administration.
This morning, residents of different districts of the capital were worried about a strange noise that resembled either the sound of an airplane or a very strong wind. On social media, users were actively discussing the nature of this humming noise, trying to understand what exactly caused it.
Some speculated that it was due to the operation of a thermal power plant (TPP), which occasionally releases steam. It was noted that similar incidents had occurred before.
TheKyiv City State Administration confirmed that the process noise is indeed related to the operation of a large heat source located on the right bank of the city.
According to KCSA representatives, this noise is an integral part of the production process, as the heat source uses large and powerful equipment that ensures the stable operation of the heat supply system.
The KCSA emphasized that due to security concerns, no further information on the specifics of the equipment’s operation is disclosed.
At the same time, city residents have no reason to worry, as the situation is under full control and poses no threats or risks to the public.
In a comment to TSN.ua, the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration clarified that the CHP plant is discharging steam, which is why there is such a noise effect.
“Such works have been performed more than once. They are absolutely safe. Previously, they were performed at night or in the morning, and now, due to an emergency, steam is discharged during daylight hours,” the department explained.
Residents of both the right and left banks of the capital have been complaining about the noise in Kyiv on social media since the night of November 20. In particular, the noise is heard in the city center.
