Akord Import is investing $14 million in the construction of a new cabinet furniture plant. This construction was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development Dmytro Kysylevsky, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

According to him, after the launch of the new plant, the company’s production capacity will increase from 420 thousand square meters to 1.2 million square meters of cabinet furniture per month, which will allow it to enter the top 5 manufacturers of cabinet furniture in Europe. The launch of the first production lines is scheduled for July 2025, and the new plant should reach full capacity in September. The new production facility will employ 140 residents of Khmelnytskyi.

Another interesting detail is that a 1.1 MW solar power plant has already been built to meet the plant’s electricity needs and an additional 2.8 MW is under construction, as well as a gas piston plant.

Dmytro Kysylevskyi said that the owners of Akord Import, the Grabar family, started out as furniture importers, and now it is Ukraine’s largest exporter of cabinet furniture.

“Currently, the existing company, Akord Import, is 100% loaded. About 70% of the company’s cabinet furniture orders come from the international retail chain JYSK. In 2025, it increased the volume of cabinet furniture orders from Ukraine by one third. In total, 96% of the company’s products are exported to the European Union. The launch of the new plant will allow us to expand the geography of export supplies to the Middle East, South Asia and South America,” said Dmytro Kysylevskyi.

By the way, the MP said that to replace imports of cellular cardboard used by the company for furniture packaging, another plant is being built in Khmelnytsky Oblast to produce these products to the highest standards. Kronospan, which has recently launched a production line in Rivne region, is a supplier of wood-based panels to Accord Import.

Industrial parks are driving new construction in Ukraine

For example, Pozhmashina and Formatsiya.Lviv Industrial Park have recently signed an agreement to build a new full-cycle plant for the production of special equipment. The company called it an event in the history of Ukrainian engineering. According to Pozhmashyna’s press service, the amount of investment is $15 million and the construction period is 2 years.

Another example. Ukraine’s first textile waste recycling line has been launched in Irpin, near Kyiv. According to MP Dmytro Kysylevskyi, the new Re:inventex project is being developed by a team known for K.Tex (production of nonwovens) and the Ma’rizhany Industrial Park (processing of industrial hemp). Currently, Irpin is piloting the recycling of waste from its own production and several other light industry companies.

Dmytro Kysylevskyi reminds that industrial parks across Ukraine have now started building infrastructure as part of a co-financing project from the state budget. For example, Khmelnytsky Industrial Park was able to attract UAH 51 million from the state budget. And now several potential foreign residents – Danish, Turkish, and German manufacturers, as well as a Ukrainian investor – are waiting for the completion of infrastructure construction there. Memorandums have been signed with another 8 companies from Khmelnytskyi. If these plans are implemented at least partially, it will make Khmelnytsky Industrial Park one of the most powerful in Ukraine.
