20 November 19:36

On Thursday, November 21, blackout schedules will be introduced in Ukraine. This was reported by Komersant] with reference to Ukrenergo.

It is reported that tomorrow the time of application and the scope of restrictions will be as follows:

  • 7:00 – 11:00 – one round of blackouts;
  • 11:00 – 19:00 – two rounds of blackouts;
  • 19:00 – 22:00 – one round of outages.

The reason for the temporary restrictions is the damage to power facilities during a massive missile and drone attack on November 17.

Emergency repairs are currently underway. Power engineers are doing their best to bring the damaged equipment back into operation.

What is the situation with the energy sector in Ukraine?

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in the country is growing.

Today, November 20, as of 5:00 a.m., its level was 1.6% higher than at the same time the previous day, on Tuesday, November 19. This is due to the continuation of power supply to consumers in Odesa region who were previously cut off as a result of Russian shelling. Emergency repair works in the region are ongoing.

Yesterday, on November 19, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 6% higher than on the previous day, Monday, November 18. This is due to fewer restrictions being applied at that time.

During the day, Ukraine also had to import 7,914 MWh of electricity from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova.
