25 November 13:58The Bureau of Economic Security has reported a high-profile case allegedly being handled by detectives in Lviv region. This case concerns cars that were illegally imported into the country under the guise of volunteers, reports Komersant ukrainskyi
“Detectives of the TU BEB in Lviv region exposed three charitable foundations that ensured the importation of more than 700 used cars into Ukraine without paying the relevant customs duties. The investigation established that a group of people, including citizens of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, organized the illegal import of vehicles under the guise of humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In fact, the cars were sold for cash,”
– reported the BES.
According to the BES press service, BES detectives conducted a series of searches at the suspects’ residences and seized documents, 17 vehicles, and computer equipment.
At the same time, the BES did not explain why 700 cars were to be sold and only 17 were seized.

Also, according to the SBI, the heads of the Odesa BES are involved in a case of financial fraud worth UAH 10 billion in the “grain corridor.”
