“Real Reality Glasses” were presented at the climate conference in Baku, reminding of the Russian ecocide in Ukraine

Thanks to the installation, participants in the UN conference on climate change can momentarily witness the disasters that occur daily in Ukraine.
They are offered to put on glasses and immerse themselves in virtual reality. There, a person finds himself among the burning sites of Ukrainian forests, can fly over the destroyed Kakhovka Reservoir and feel the effects of Russian aggression.
“We watched the news about the war, but we didn’t know how influential it was. I thought about the children, the people, the infrastructure. This experience gives you an idea of how the war affects all aspects of life,” says a conference attendee from Belize, Central America.
At the same time, the Ukrainian stand tells not only about the catastrophe but also about the hope for recovery: its walls are made of eco-friendly paper with live grass seeds. On this paper, artist Oleksandra Zhumailova created images covering more than 120 square meters – 50 environmental initiatives of the state, business, and Ukrainians in general.
The Ukrainian pavilion was created by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as well as Ukrainian and foreign partners: DTEK, Kernel, the United Nations Development Program, EOPA, SaveDnipro, UAnimals and others.
