Due to the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in five regions of Ukraine may introduce local quarantines.

This was reported by the Health Ministry, reports Komersant ukrainskyi.

We are talking about Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions.

The Ministry of Health noted that the local quarantine may provide for distance learning in separate classes in schools, educational institutions, limiting the number of visitors in institutions and other anti-epidemic measures.

The agency also said that over the past week across Ukraine recorded 171,068 cases of acute respiratory infections, of which 104,843 – among children.

This number of diseases is 13% more than recorded in the previous week, but, however, such indicators are typical for the middle of the epidseason and do not exceed the epidemic threshold calculated for Ukraine, the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry explained that the rise in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections is caused by the circulation of influenza viruses in 22 regions of the country. And given the data of weekly monitoring, it is predicted until April, the flu virus will prevail over coronavirus infection.
