Tymoshenko flies to the US again: for Ukrainian Week or unofficial talks

The leader of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, was spotted at the Vienna airport in the area of her flight to Washington. This was reported by former MP from the Batkivshchyna party Andriy Pavlovsky, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

Despite the absence of official statements from her press service, this is not the first visit of the Ukrainian politician to representatives of the current US administration.

“The leader of Batkivshchyna was spotted at the Vienna airport, in the area of departure to Washington. Tymoshenko’s press service did not report on the purpose of the visit, but this is not her first trip to the current US administration,” Pavlovsky wrote.

What is known about Tymoshenko’s visit?

Earlier, Yulia Tymoshenko attended a prayer service in Washington, which was one of the main events dedicated to the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Tymoshenko was also the first Ukrainian politician to meet with Trump’s special representative for Ukraine, General Joseph Kellogg, in early January in Paris.

Ukrainian week in Washington: who else is attending

Tymoshenko’s current visit to the United States coincides with Ukrainian Week in Washington, which may indicate possible talks on support for Ukraine.

A number of events are taking place in Washington from February 3 to 8 as part of Ukrainian Week. These include meetings and forums that will bring together representatives of Ukraine and the United States. These events will promote Ukrainian interests, talk about rebuilding Ukraine and ensuring a just peace.

Meetings with the co-chairs of the Ukrainian Congressional Caucus, other senators and congressmen, and senior officials of the U.S. Department of State are planned, as well as the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast, the Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast, the International Religious Freedom Summit, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Forum, forums on family and demographics, education and leadership, a veterans’ forum, and other important events

Oksana Prodan, Advisor to the Head of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, posted on her Facebook page that the Ukrainian Week is currently taking place in Washington, D.C., bringing together representatives from Ukraine and the United States to strengthen support and cooperation.

“I am here today on behalf of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, which unites village, town, and city councils from all over Ukraine who are fighting for Ukraine and the people inside the country. Ukrainian Week in Washington brings together representatives from two countries from very different fields, positions, and backgrounds for the sake of global support, success, and victory for Ukraine,” Prodan wrote.
